Marathon Kids donated 181 pairs of adult and childrens shoes to the Browne Community Center in Brownsville, TX to help the Colonias families in need. Many thanks to Austin area families, 1379 Kids, RunTex, and Blue Book Building and Construction for donating shoes to the Colonias families.

The Rio Grande Valley Area celebrated the Kick Off of the 2007-2008 school year Marathon Kids program on January 26th, 2008 at Boggus stadium in Harlingen, TX. Many elementary school students in the Rio Grande Valley area showed up on this cool January morning to celebrate the start of a 26.2 mile journey in 6 months, and eating 5-a-day fruits and veggies! Way to go, Rio Grande Valley.

Saturdays culminating free Dallas Marathon Kids Final Mile Medal Celebration was a smash hit for the children, with 7,500 folks at Dallas ISDs Loos Stadium.
