Troy Grimes
- When: February 27, 2010 , March 7th 2010 and March 27th 2010
- Where: Ft. Worth, TX; El Paso, TX; and Moab, Utah
"My ultimate goal is to provide an incentive for elementary school children to develop a healthy lifestyle that includes a love for exercise and running. When I was a youngster, coaches viewed running as either (1) a necessary evil or (2) a form of punishment. As result, I ran only when I “had to”. This mind-set carried into my adulthood when I became, for lack of a better term, a “fat couch potato”.
Hopefully, I can provide inspiration to kids across the nation (and maybe even their parents) that running can be fun and does not have to be torture like I remember it as a youth. If I have it my way, not another kid will ever have to “run scared” because someone “took all the fun out of it” for them."
Here are the races he will be running and his goals:
- Feb. 27, 2010: Cowtown Ultra Marathon (31 miles): I hope to finish in the top 3 in my age group.
- Mar. 07, 2010: El Paso Marathon: I hope to qualify for Boston for the 1st time.
- Mar. 27, 2010: Moab Utah: Complete my first 100-mile run in under 24 hours.
