Los Angeles Kick Off Celebration 2011-2012
- When: October 22, 2011 10 am sharp!
- Where: UCLA Drake Track and Field Stadium
On Saturday, Oct 22nd, thousands of Los Angeles area K-5th grade school children and parents ceremonially begin running/walking 26.2 miles in increments of ¼ to ½ mile at a time over six months, coloring in their Marathon Kids Running Logs©. They also are challenged to eat 26.2 days a month of 5-a-day fruits and veggies, coloring in their "Fuel Logs". Together in a free, glorious, ceremonial Kick Off Celebration, they will start their first mile of their marathon, with other Los Angeles area schools and families, and UCLA athletes.
Seating will be First come, First to run! Our Volunteers will guide you to the first available seating. If you would like to run with your school, please arrange to meet on the concourse level, and then be seated together. Groups are encouraged to make and bring large school signs so that you may easily find each other.
If you are arriving on a bus, please print the Bus Drop Off Directions below, and give to your bus driver. Directions to the event are on the Kick Off Flyer. If you are coming in a passenger car, you must park in Lot 4. Parking fee is $10.
