Houston Final Mile

  • When: April 17, 2010 10am
  • Where: University Of Houston Tom Tellez Track and Field Stadium
On Saturday April 17th, thousands of Houston area K-5th grade school children, teachers and parents will celebrate the completion of 26.2 miles!  The children have been running/walking a marathon in increments of ¼ to ½ mile at a time over six months, and coloring in their Marathon Kids Running Logs©.  They have also been challenged to eat 26.2 days a month of 5-a-day fruits and veggies. Together in a free, glorious, ceremonial Final Mile Celebration, they will receive a shiny medal and celebrate their victory!

Seating will be First come, First to run!  Our Volunteers will guide you to the first available seating.  If you would like to run with your school, please arrange to meet outside the stands then be seated together.  Groups are encouraged to make and bring large school signs so that you may easily find each other.

The event will be held RAIN OR SHINE! Please plan for the weather!
