On Saturday, March 24, 2012, thousands of Dallas area K-5th grade students, will  join with their teachers, families, and the community to celebrate the completion of a full marathon - 26.2 miles!  The children have been running/walking in increments of ¼ - ½ mile at a time, over the course of their school year. Now that they’ve accumulated all 26.2 miles, the children will run their ceremonial last laps and earn their official Finisher Medal to mark their accomplishment!

Family, teachers, friends, and the Dallas community are invited as well, as we celebrate the achievement of these children and encourage healthy habits to last a lifetime!

Seating will be FIRST COME, FIRST TO RUN! Our volunteers will guide you to the first available seating when you enter the stadium. Please look for and listen to these volunteers as you arrive.

Due to safety concerns, we can NOT allow one person to reserve seats for a large group. If your school would like to run together, please arrange to meet in the School Meet Up Area outside the stadium, then be seated together.  Groups are encouraged to make and bring large school signs, so that you may easily find each other.

Teachers: Please communicate with the parents re: any plans (or lack thereof) to meet up as a school!

Weather Info:  The event will go on, rain or shine! Any necessary weather updates will be posted here AND on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/MarathonKids), but plan to attend rain or shine!

Finisher Shirts will be sent directly to your school (or home for homeschool/individual family participants), 2-3 weeks following the Final Mile Medal Celebration.
