Austin Final Mile
- When: February 20, 2010 9am AISD, 11am all others
- Where: AISD's Tony Burger Center
On Saturday, February 20th, thousands of Central Texas area K-5th grade school children and parents will celebrate the completion of 26.2 miles! The children have been running/walking a marathon in increments of ¼ to ½ mile at a time over six months, and coloring in their Marathon Kids Running Logs©. They have also been challenged to eat 26.2 days a month of 5-a-day fruits and veggies. Together in a free, glorious, ceremonial Final Mile Celebration, they will receive a shiny medal and celebrate their victory!
Seating will be First come, First to run!
Our Volunteers will guide you to the first available seating.
If you would like to run with your school, please arrange to meet outside the stands, and then be seated together. Groups are encouraged to make and bring large school signs so that you may easily find each other.
Weather Info: The event will go on rain or shine! Any necessary weather updates will be posted on this page the morning of February 20th, but please plan to attend rain or shine!
Parking Info: Parking is free at the Tony Burger Center off of 290 between Brodie and Westgate. Download map and Final Mile Flyers below! Follow the signage and security officers once on site at AISD's Burger Stadium.
