This recipe was taken from allrecipes.com , from the Kids as Chefs section. This is a great recipe for breakfast or even a snack after school! It is loaded with protein, fruit, and yummy sweetness until the last bite!
Ingredients (serves 2):
- 1/2 cup of peanut butter (for protein!)
- 4 English muffins, split and toasted (for energy!)
- 1 red or green apple, cored and sliced (for fruit!)
- 1/4 cup of pack brown sugar (for sweetness!)
- 2 tablespoons of margarine/butter (for long-lasting energy!)
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon (for delicious taste!)
With mom or dad's help:
Toast English muffin.
Spread peanut butter on both halves with the back of a spoon, or a dull knife.
Stack the apple slices on top of the English muffin.
Melt the brown sugar, margarine, and cinnamon together on a stove (with Mom or Dad's permission and help), or in the microwave. While the items are melting together, which should only be about 30 seconds, jog in place. It gets your heart rate up, and it makes you even more hungry for your delicious breakfast round you are making!
When everything is melted in the pot, stir it well with a spoon.
Drizzle mixture over apple slices and...ENJOY!!!!
