26.2 and You - The Marathon Kids Blog
When I started working at Marathon Kids in late June of 2013, I was told that we had a goal of 300,000 marathoners across the country to aim for. As a non-profit organization, it’s extremely important that we remain focused on our goals and grow strategically, continuing to be good stewards of our community and our constituents. With the goal in mind and the continuation of the amazing work Marathon Kids does, I knew I had some business to take care of.
When I came in as National Director of Programs we were undergoing a lot of transition at the organization, including the development and implementation of a new registration system for our Lead Teachers. The most marathoners we had ever had in the past were 285,000 and, we weren’t sure if we would get to 300,000, much less how. Well, that was then, and now we have met the mark.
